By a relevant decree of the President of Uzbekistan, Colonel Bakhrom Bakhodirovich Urmanov has been appointed as Deputy Minister of Defense for Digitalization, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity.

Prior to this appointment, he served as head of the Main Directorate of Communications, Information Technologies and Information Protection of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.

The appointment is seen as a significant step towards modernizing Uzbekistan's defense system, focusing on the introduction of advanced technologies and strengthening cybersecurity.

Colonel Urmanov's experience is expected to accelerate digital transformation within the military sector.
