The President of Uzbekistan has approved new personnel appointments within the Ministry of Defense. The agency now has a new deputy minister responsible for high technology and a head of the strategic operational direction.
According to official data, Colonel Bahrom Urmanov has been appointed as Deputy Minister of Defense for Digitalization, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity. Prior to this appointment, he headed the Main Directorate of Communications, Information Technologies, and Information Protection of the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
Additionally, the personnel changes affected the South-Western Special Military District. Colonel Mirsaid Shukurov has been appointed as the commander of the Southern Operational Command.
