On May 4, the President signed a law amending Article 88 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility (Non-compliance with atmospheric air protection requirements). The new rules take effect on August 5.
Violations now include: burning fuel, materials, and waste in open flames in unauthorized places; burning tires, bitumen, fuel oil, films, synthetic cardboard, and rubber for heating greenhouses and industrial premises.
Fine amounts: for a first offense, citizens face 15-25 BRV (6.18-10.3 million soums), officials 25-50 BRV (10.3-20.6 million soums); for a repeat offense within a year, citizens 25-50 BRV (10.3-20.6 million soums), officials 50-70 BRV (20.6-28.84 million soums).
