Kun.uz published an investigation into the situation resulting from mining and blasting operations carried out on April 15 in the tourist village of Akbura, Samarkand district. The report stated that after the explosion, rock fragments reached some houses, cracks appeared on walls, and part of the population was not officially warned about the blasting.

Following the publication of the investigation, the incident began to be actively discussed by the public and responsible agencies. In particular, Botirali Shodiev, a member of the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan faction in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, sent a parliamentary inquiry to Minister of Mining and Geology Bobur Islamov.

According to the lawmaker, this problem is not an isolated or accidental incident. He noted that in previous years, residents repeatedly expressed dissatisfaction that blasting operations at the quarry were carried out without full compliance with established technical requirements and safety rules. This indicates the systemic nature of the problem.

The parliamentary inquiry demands substantiated information on the legal framework and control mechanisms under which blasting operations are conducted in the Akbura area, as well as the degree of compliance with current technical regulations and safety rules.

In addition, an official comment is requested on measures taken to identify and compensate for damage caused to residential buildings and property as a result of the blasting, as well as systemic measures being implemented to prevent such incidents in the future.
