On May 21, heavy rainfall caused mudslides and floodwaters in several regions of Uzbekistan, including Jizzakh, Tashkent, Kashkadarya, Navoi, Surkhandarya, and Samarkand. In some cases, mudflows crossed highways, according to Uzhydromet.

Starting at 14:30, in the Zomin district of Jizzakh region, mudflows of approximately 3–5 cubic meters passed through the village of Segisari in the Navbahor mahalla. Simultaneously, in the Khulkar village of the Taraqqiyot mahalla, mudflows of 1–3 cubic meters were observed.

From 15:10, in the Beshkubi village, a mudflow of about 1–3 cubic meters per second was recorded. From 15:20, in the mudflow channels passing through the villages of Quduqcha, Jailma, and Mug‘ol in the Shirin mahalla, flows of 1–3 cubic meters per second were observed. From 16:05, in the Achchi village of the Yuksalish mahalla, a mudflow of 5–8 cubic meters per second was recorded.

According to the Yangiqishloq meteorological station, from 19:30 on May 21, mudflows of about 5–6 cubic meters were observed in the Garasha village of the Forish district.

In Samarkand region, at the Okhaliksoy hydrometric post in Samarkand district, 4.3 mm of precipitation was recorded at 17:15, raising the water level by 20 centimeters.

In the Zavqiy mahalla of Dehqonobod district, Kashkadarya region, around 18:30, short-term rain caused water from the Kayfon hills to cross the M-39 Tashkent-Termez highway via a mudflow channel and flow into the Kichikora River. No casualties were reported.

In the Nurota district of Navoi region, as of 19:00, rainwater in the Chuya mahalla passed through mudflow channels in the Darasoy village without causing damage. Similarly, in the Avazsoy mahalla, waters in the Avazsoy mudflow channels were safely discharged.

In the Yangi Hayot mahalla of Karmana district, mudflow waters from mountain slopes passed through an internal mudflow channel.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, in the Khatirchi district, a section of the road was blocked by boulders, damaging 4 vehicles (Nexia, Cobalt, Nexia 3, and UAZ-469) and several houses. Residents near the Angidon, Langar, Kattasoy, and Maydon streams were temporarily evacuated to safe areas. In Karmana district, mudflow waters entered the household plots and outbuildings of 7 homes.

Mudflows were also recorded in parts of Nurota district, passing through channels without harm. A total of 37 special vehicles and 173 personnel were deployed to mitigate the consequences.

According to hydrometric posts in Surkhandarya region, around 20:15–20:25, short-term rain in mountainous areas caused a mudflow of about 6–7 cubic meters per second in the Nilusoy stream, passing through the Nilu mahalla in Sariosiyo district. Muddy sediments were deposited on local and highway roads. The nearest Sangardak meteorological station recorded 4 mm of precipitation.

In the city of Angren, Tashkent region, rain between 17:00 and 18:00 caused rainwater from mountain slopes to overflow into the Yangi Bog‘isuv mahalla. Mudflows also reached the Qiziltu village in Bo‘stonliq district.

In the Dumaloq mahalla of Bo‘stonliq district, a mudflow of 10–12 cubic meters from the Unkelsoy stream crossed the Tashkent-Chorvoq highway.

In the Sarqang‘li mahalla, mudflow waters discharged into the Parkent canal, causing overflow from the canal bed.

In the Qoramozor mahalla, heavy rain caused rainwater from mountain slopes to block the roadway.

Earlier, Uzhydromet had warned that mudslides and floods were possible in the foothills and mountainous areas of the republic from May 15 to 22.
