President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree aimed at strengthening social protection for military personnel and civilian employees of defense bodies. Defense Minister Shuhrat Kholmukhamedov announced this on June 8 following a meeting.
According to him, the amount of monetary compensation for housing rent for servicemen serving in Tashkent and Samarkand will be increased by 25%. This step is intended to improve the financial situation of the military.
Additionally, salaries of civilian employees of defense bodies will be raised. The minister stated that from July 1, the salaries of civilian workers will increase by 20%, and from January 1, 2027, by another 50%. He made this announcement in an interview with Uzbekistan 24 TV channel.
During the presentation, proposals were also submitted to the president on digitizing military registration, medical and draft commissions. These measures are proposed to be implemented as part of introducing the “zero bureaucracy” principle into the activities of defense bodies.
“According to this, data on boys who have reached the age of 16 and received an ID card will be taken from the information system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and it is planned to introduce a procedure for automatically registering them for military service,” the minister emphasized.
Furthermore, it is planned to abolish the passage of medical commissions in defense departments. All medical examinations are expected to be conducted in central multidisciplinary polyclinics in districts and cities.
The minister noted that the implementation of these proposals will allow providing transparent digital services to citizens and reduce excessive bureaucracy.
The president also signed a decree on the effective use of air defense systems, high-precision weapons, and military aviation. On the basis of the existing command, the Combat Command of the Air Force will be established.
