A tragic incident has occurred in the Qamashi district of Uzbekistan's Qashqadaryo region, where a 3-year-old child died after being left inside a vehicle by staff at a private family kindergarten. The news was confirmed by Dilfuza Sobirova, press secretary of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education.
The incident took place at a kindergarten owned by individual entrepreneur O.A., located in the Zafar mahalla. Due to the negligence and carelessness of the staff, the child was left locked inside the vehicle and subsequently died. According to the ministry, the kindergarten management and responsible employees had been repeatedly warned about complying with child transportation safety rules.
A criminal case has been initiated by law enforcement agencies, and an investigation is underway. Following the tragedy, the contract with entrepreneur O.A. has been terminated. The ministry expressed condolences to the family of the deceased and stated that strict measures will be taken against all those responsible.
The Ministry also appealed to parents, reminding them that ensuring the safe transportation of children to and from educational institutions is one of their primary responsibilities, and urged them to be vigilant about their children's safety.
This is not the first such incident in the region. In June 2025, a 2-year-old girl died after being left in the car of a kindergarten director in the Koson district of Qashqadaryo. In that case, the director was sentenced to three years in prison.
