The Namangan region has identified priority areas for economic and infrastructure development for the current year. The authorities aim to ensure a 9.2% growth in gross regional product, focusing on mechanical engineering, metallurgy, light industry, and new economy sectors. Notably, industrial production in the region has grown from 4.6 trillion to 40 trillion soums in recent years.

This was announced following a meeting held by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his visit to Namangan. The meeting discussed economic indicators and future plans.

Simultaneously, a large-scale renewal of infrastructure and healthcare will unfold in the region. 703 billion soums have been allocated to improve water supply, funding the construction of 130 km of water pipelines and 9 water facilities, which will provide centralized clean water to 34,000 residents for the first time.

Additionally, reconstruction of a 75-km section of the "Pungan — Namangan" highway will begin, expanding it to four lanes, along with the construction of over 40 bridges and pedestrian crossings. For public transport, 170 buses, electric buses, and minibuses will be purchased by September. In healthcare, a new primary care model will be introduced in the Kosonsoy and Uychi districts. Furthermore, in October, a national program to combat heart attacks and strokes will launch in the Namangan, Andijan, and Fergana regions.

Earlier, it was reported that a "smart" situation center for digital management of the region was launched in Namangan.
