Law enforcement in Uzbekistan has cracked down on two cases of illegal trafficking of potent medicinal drugs in the Tashkent region and Karakalpakstan. In both incidents, previously convicted individuals were apprehended, and large quantities of pharmaceuticals intended for sale were seized.
According to the Department under the General Prosecutor's Office, in Bekabad, officers conducted a joint operation with other law enforcement agencies, detaining a previously convicted man involved in the illegal sale of potent drugs.
During a search of his home in the 'Nurli Yol' mahalla, authorities discovered and confiscated nearly 3,900 packages of various medications valued at approximately 181 million soums. Investigators believe the drugs were destined for resale.
A similar case was uncovered in the Karaozyak district of Karakalpakstan, where local department officers, together with other law enforcers, arrested a previously convicted citizen while he was selling 120 packages of potent drugs.
Criminal cases have been opened in connection with both incidents, and investigations are ongoing. Earlier, department officers had detained five previously convicted individuals engaged in the illegal trade of potent drugs.
