The Committee for the Development of Competition and Protection of Consumer Rights has examined prices for paid medical services provided at 8 medical institutions during 2023-2025. The press service of the agency reported this.
Inspections were conducted in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, specialized medical centers, and the Taxiatosh district medical association. According to the committee's analysis, the following factors led to artificial price increases in medical institutions.
Following the identified violations, the committee initiated cases against 6 medical institutions. They were issued instructions to eliminate legislative violations, prevent such cases in the future, and return 285.4 million soum unjustly collected from over 127,000 citizens.
As a result of measures taken by the committee, factors artificially inflating prices for paid medical services were eliminated. This ensured a reduction in prices for paid medical services for the population by an average of 5-10%, the report says.
Earlier, the committee found that tariffs for medical services at 8 republican specialized medical centers were incorrectly formed. The agency instructed these institutions to review and optimize prices.
