In Uzbekistan's Fergana region, the mother of a minor teenager who threw a puppy into the Great Fergana Canal has been held administratively liable. According to the regional ecology department, the teenager's identity was established after a video of animal cruelty spread on social media. He turned out to be a minor resident of the Toshloq district.
Since the teenager is under 18, a protocol was drawn up against his mother. She was charged under Article 47 of the Administrative Code (failure to fulfill duties of upbringing and education of minor children) and fined 2.06 million soums (5 times the base calculation value).
The teenager himself underwent a preventive conversation. The situation has been taken under control by the district internal affairs officers.
According to information circulating on social media, the puppy survived—it was reportedly pulled out of the water. There is no official confirmation of this data yet.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbek citizens demanded to find the animal abusers who threw the puppy into a turbulent canal for hype.
