According to Uzbekistan's Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the first six months of 2026, no crimes were registered in 5,778 mahallas (neighborhoods) across the country. This accounts for 64% of all mahallas in Uzbekistan.
Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Ramazon Ashropov reported that 2,738 mahallas (30.4%) were categorized as 'yellow,' meaning crimes were recorded there. Another 476 mahallas (5.3%) fell into the 'red' category, requiring heightened attention from law enforcement.
Additionally, over 200,000 citizen appeals were received by internal affairs bodies during the first half of the year. Of those processed, 87% were resolved positively.
