President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on July 14 received a delegation led by Governor Eugenio Giani of Italy's Tuscany region, who arrived on a working visit. This was reported by the head of state's press service.

The meeting discussed issues of further developing the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Italy, primarily in trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Special attention was paid to expanding interregional cooperation.

It was noted that there is great potential for developing cooperation with the Tuscany region in textiles, leather and footwear, food and jewelry industries, construction, as well as in education, culture, and tourism.

The developing partnership ties between Tuscany and the Bukhara region, as well as the signed cooperation agreement, were highly appreciated.

At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached to prepare and adopt a joint “roadmap” envisaging the implementation of new projects and initiatives aimed at further developing cooperation between Tuscany and the regions of Uzbekistan.
