A 27-year-old employee of a power supply company died in a workplace accident in the Shaykhantakhur district of Tashkent, as reported by the “Millar” program.
The incident occurred on July 9. According to preliminary data, the worker fell from a ladder after repairing a power line fault, hitting his head on a metal structure and sustaining fatal injuries.
Fakhriddin Nuraliyev, press secretary of “Hududiy elektr tarmoqlari” JSC, stated that the worker was taken to the hospital but died despite medical assistance.
He added that a special order has been issued regarding the incident, and the causes of the accident are being investigated with the participation of company officials and authorized bodies.
The scene was examined by district prosecutor’s office staff and an operational-investigative group.
Prosecutor General’s Office spokesperson Hayot Shamsutdinov said that the Shaykhantakhur district prosecutor’s office is conducting pre-investigation checks, and a legal decision will be made based on the results.
Earlier, a 25-year-old man died in the Yashnabad district of Tashkent after being crushed by a concrete slab at a construction site.
In the first half of 2026, Uzbekistan recorded 447 work-related accidents, affecting 494 workers, with 137 fatalities. Tashkent city and region led in regional statistics, while industry and construction sectors had the highest accident rates.
