Authorities in Uzbekistan's Kashkadarya region have imposed daytime restrictions on heavy trucks due to abnormal heat. According to the regional administration, daytime temperatures reach 42–44 degrees Celsius, and in some areas even higher.

Asphalt concrete pavement heats up to 70–75 degrees Celsius and loses strength. Officials fear that under the weight of heavy trucks, ruts, deformations and other damage may appear on the heated roads.

Trucks are banned from driving daily from 09:00 to 19:00 on public roads in Karshi, district centers and connecting highways.

Drivers, transport enterprises and organizations are urged to take the temporary ban into account when planning cargo transportation.

Earlier, similar restrictions were introduced in the Surkhandarya region, where trucks are banned from moving through Termez, district centers and connecting roads from 10:00 to 19:00.
