A water supply company driver in the Uychi district of Namangan region has been accused of running a scam, promising five citizens jobs in South Korea and collecting $21,800 from them.
According to the Department for Combating Economic Crimes, the suspect worked as a driver for the Water Supply Service of the Uchkurgan district. It was established that the man obtained the money through fraudulent means.
A criminal case has been opened and investigative actions are underway. The department stated that the case has been qualified under relevant articles of the Criminal Code, but did not specify the article numbers in the official release.
Earlier in Tashkent, two men were arrested for promising to arrange employment in South Korea for $55,000. They were caught red-handed while receiving an advance payment of $25,000.
