The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has responded to reports claiming that all migrants entering Russia are required to purchase special mobile phones.

Official representative Omonulla Fayziev stated that the information is false, emphasizing that the relevant draft law is still under discussion and has not been adopted.

According to Fayziev, the proposed norms would apply only to migrants who do not have a mobile device or whose device technically does not support the installation and use of the 'Amina' application, not to all foreign citizens.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Interior Minister Igor Zubov had announced that migrants staying long-term in Russia would be required to purchase a phone to host their electronic profile, enabling authorities to track their location.
