By a decree of the head of state, Alisher Usmanov has been relieved of his post as Chairman of the State Security Service of the President of Uzbekistan. A source in the Presidential Administration informed UzNews.uz of this development.

Usmanov had held the position since December 2020. The reasons for his dismissal have not been officially disclosed.

Analysts suggest the personnel change may be part of ongoing organizational adjustments within the presidential structure. Official comments are awaited.
