Medical tourism is on the rise in Uzbekistan. According to the National Statistics Committee, more than 35,000 foreign citizens visited the country for treatment in the first half of this year.

The largest patient inflow came from neighboring countries: over 19,000 from Tajikistan, 9,500 from Kyrgyzstan, and nearly 4,500 from Kazakhstan.

Additionally, 1,300 citizens of Afghanistan, 772 from Russia, and 119 from other nations arrived for medical services.

Earlier, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev proposed building hotels near hospitals to boost medical tourism.
