Uzbekistan's national team athletes have secured two licenses for the XIV Winter Paralympic Games in Italy, according to the National Paralympic Committee press service.

Yulduz Mahmudova and Firdavs Xudoyatov will participate in the para-alpine skiing program and defend the country's honor in giant slalom.

The XIV Winter Paralympic Games will take place from March 6 to 15 in the cities of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.

23-year-old Yulduz Mahmudova has won podium places at Uzbekistan open championships in downhill, giant slalom, and slalom.

22-year-old Firdavs Xudoyatov has competed in national championships in slalom and giant slalom, earning gold, silver, and bronze medals in various years.

Para-alpine skiing competitions in Italy are held in five disciplines across three categories based on disability type: standing, sitting (monoski), or with visual impairments (visually impaired and blind athletes with a guide and radio communication).

The competitions will be held at the "Tofana" ski center in Cortina d'Ampezzo, which previously hosted the 1956 Games.

Previously, two athletes represented Uzbekistan at the Olympic Games in Italy—Medet Nazarov in slalom and giant slalom and speed skating master Daniil Yeybog in short track at 500 and 1500 meters, but they did not secure podium finishes.
