On September 8, 2017, a historic event took place in Tashkent, becoming one of the most remarkable gastronomic projects dedicated to promoting Uzbek national cuisine. A giant portion of plov weighing 7,360 kilograms was prepared, capturing global attention and showcasing the rich culinary heritage of Uzbekistan.

Prominent journalist and public figure Allamjonov recently recalled this memorable day on his social media. He wrote: “It has been exactly nine years since our team organized this event. Despite the passage of time, the emotions remain the same.” He emphasized that the project was not only about setting a record but also about highlighting the hospitality and cultural values of the Uzbek people to the world.

More than 50 chefs worked on preparing the massive dish. Several tons of rice, meat, carrots, and other ingredients were used. The plov was cooked in a specially designed giant cauldron. Representatives of Guinness World Records were present to officially verify and document the achievement.

After the result was confirmed, Uzbek plov was officially entered into the Guinness World Records. The event drew significant attention to the national cuisine and traditions of Uzbekistan, leaving a lasting legacy. Even today, this achievement is proudly remembered as a symbol of unity and cultural pride.
