Uzbekistan, Tashkent – AN Podrobno.uz. The territory of the city of Zarafshan in the Navoi region will expand by almost 2,500 hectares at the expense of lands from the Tamdyn district. Industrial and social infrastructure is planned to be developed on the new territory. The decision to transfer 2,459 hectares to the city was approved by the Senate of the Oliy Majlis at its 19th plenary session.

Earlier, in April of this year, deputies of the Legislative Chamber also approved the transfer of 2,459 hectares of land from the Tamdyn district of the Navoi region to the city of Zarafshan. At that time, the cartographic scheme and classification of border lines were also approved. Now, with the Senate's approval, the decision comes into legal force.

The expansion of the city will allow for the implementation of more than 250 industrial and production projects, the creation of 90 social facilities, and the opening of over 500 trade and service points. This is expected to create new jobs and enhance the investment attractiveness of Zarafshan.

To implement these plans, appropriate infrastructure will also be required. In particular, the construction of housing and roads, as well as the development of water supply, sewerage, and electricity supply systems, is envisaged. This will help bring the city's infrastructure up to modern standards.

Recall that in April 2026, deputies of the Legislative Chamber approved the transfer of 2,459 hectares of land from the Tamdyn district of the Navoi region to the city of Zarafshan. The Senate's approval finalizes the decision.
