Tashkent plans to create 100 gastronomic, tourist, pedestrian, and round-the-clock streets by 2030. They will appear in all 12 districts of the capital, according to AN Podrobno.uz.
The largest number of such streets is planned in Chilanzar district – 11. Ten each will appear in Mirzo-Ulugbek, Sergeli, Yunusabad, and Yangihayot districts; eight each in Mirabad, Almazar, Shaykhantahur, Yakkasaray, and Yashnabad districts. Uchtepa district will have six streets, and Bektemir – three.
For the implementation of projects in 2026, 175 billion soums are allocated from saved state budget funds. In total, by 2030, it is planned to gradually direct 1 trillion soums to the creation of such streets.
Earlier it was reported that the tourist street of Taras Shevchenko in Tashkent will be extended by almost 400 meters. The new section is planned to be landscaped and supplemented with public spaces for walking, recreation, and business.
