As previously reported, the President reviewed the results of urban improvement works in the Kichkirik mahalla of Almazar district in the capital, home to over 5,400 residents.

As part of the project, a 450-seat kindergarten, recreation area, amphitheater, pedestrian alley, and fountains were built in a short time in an area that previously lacked necessary infrastructure. The facades of residential buildings were also renovated, and hundreds of benches and lighting fixtures were installed. Additionally, 12 workout areas, 3 football fields, and a library were equipped.

This experience is planned to be expanded: similar works will begin on 8 more streets in Almazar district, and in the remaining 11 districts of the capital — on at least 3–4 streets each. A total of 1 trillion soums has been allocated for the comprehensive renovation of 100 streets in Tashkent. Furthermore, a four-year program worth 10 trillion soums will be developed to improve 400 mahallas following the Kichkirik example.

It was also emphasized that each district must clearly define which mahallas and streets will undergo what transformations and when. These plans must be discussed in local Kengashes and published openly for the public.

In addition, one of the key innovations was the creation of a 2.4 km long pedestrian zone along the Kichkirik canal. Some 12.4 km of pedestrian paths were laid, and an additional green area was created. It was proposed to turn the embankments of canals and large canals in the capital into open and safe walking areas. In particular, the possibility of creating a continuous 20 km pedestrian zone along the Bozsu canal from the Shahidlar Khotirasi memorial complex to Chilanzar district is being considered. A separate project is tasked to be developed within one month.
