At a meeting dedicated to the socio-economic development of the capital, large-scale measures were discussed, including the auctioning of state property, the development of pedestrian infrastructure, and support for entrepreneurship.
It was reported that in Almazar district alone, 52 state-owned properties with a total value of 100 billion sums are being put up for auction. Their transfer to businessmen along with ready-made projects will boost economic activity and increase budget revenues.
As part of urban environment development, special attention is paid to creating conditions for active recreation. In the Kichkirik mahalla, an eco-park and 12.5 kilometers of pedestrian paths have been arranged along a 2.5-kilometer embankment. Additionally, the embankments of the capital's canals are planned to be turned into safe walking zones. In particular, along the Bozsu canal from the Shahidlar Khotirasi memorial complex to Chilanzar district, a continuous 20-kilometer pedestrian path will be created, with the project to be developed within one month.
To stimulate small business in the capital, it will be permitted to adapt the first floors of apartment buildings for trade and services. At the same time, the limit of collateral-free loans for start-up entrepreneurs in Tashkent will increase from 100 million to 200 million sums. Thanks to these measures, 300 entrepreneurs will be supported in Almazar district this year, and 1,000 jobs will be created. By the end of the year, this experience will be extended to other districts, providing employment for 20,000 citizens.
In the Miskin and Ibrokhim ota mahallas, an industrial zone of 305 hectares with 504 business facilities will be modernized. Through the introduction of industrial mortgages, lending, and leasing, the number of jobs here will grow from 35,000 to 100,000, and export volume will reach $600 million.
The district is also addressing the shortage of personnel. A technical college for information technology and innovation with 400 places will be established on the basis of the Almazar Professional Skills Center, and a modern professional center will be placed in the building of the former Tashkent Architectural and Construction College. For citizens to work abroad, German language courses for 500 people and training of medical staff for the Czech Republic and Slovakia will be organized. Twenty large recruitment companies from Germany, Japan, Korea, and the UK will be involved, and a project for seasonal employment of 1,500 people per year will be implemented with French firms.
Furthermore, by the end of the year, the creation of an innovation cluster combining an IT park, high-tech industries, and educational facilities will begin in the Yoshlar Shaharchasi student town on an area of 42 hectares. Recall that this year, $9 billion in investments was planned to be attracted across 12 districts of the capital, but at the president's video conference, the need to intensify this work was emphasized.
