Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree awarding state honors to educators, scientists, coaches, and other education sector workers for their contributions to the development of the education and upbringing system, AN Podrobno.uz reported.
Representatives of schools, universities, technical colleges, research institutions, and organizations operating in the education sector received honorary titles, orders, and medals. Among the awardees are also specialists involved in educational reforms and the introduction of international experience, digital technologies, and modern teaching methods.
Two teachers received the title "People's Teacher of the Republic of Uzbekistan": Ergashev Saidov, a primary school teacher at School No. 6 in Denau district of Surkhandarya region, and Azimbay Saparbayev, a mathematics teacher at School No. 36 in Amudarya district of Karakalpakstan.
Two more educators were awarded the title "Honored Worker of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan." The title "Honored Mentor of Youth" was given to Ismatulla Raimov, chairman of the public council of School No. 1 in Zaamin district of Jizzakh region, and Ahmadjon Soleev, first vice-rector of Samarkand State University.
State awards were also given to representatives of science, sports, culture, preschool, and special education. Among them are employees of the Academy of Sciences, university and school teachers, coaches, heads of educational institutions, and specialists in inclusive education.
Among the awardees are foreign specialists participating in Uzbekistan's educational projects. In particular, the "Dustlik" (Friendship) Order was awarded to Angela Papenburg, a member of the board of directors of the German company GP Günter Papenburg AG; Kangu Bhavani Santosh Kumari, an expert on attracting foreign specialists at the Ministry of Preschool and School Education; and Matthias Klingenberg, head of the GIZ project supporting the reform of vocational education.
In addition, representatives of private educational organizations, textbook developers, young scientists, and specialists working on the digitalization of education were awarded orders and medals.
The decree notes that the awards were conferred for contributions to improving the effectiveness of reforms in education, introducing advanced international experience and innovative pedagogical and digital technologies, training qualified personnel, and educating the younger generation.
