Starting October 16, Uzbekistan Airways will reduce ticket prices for domestic flights by an average of up to 20 percent. This adjustment aims to alleviate financial burdens on passengers and improve regional connectivity across the country.

According to the Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Rights Protection, the tariffs were revised following a directive issued by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The committee, alongside the national carrier, reviewed operational expenses and formulated proposals to lower the fares.

Authorities anticipate that the cheaper flights will stimulate domestic tourism and make regional travel significantly more accessible for the population. The committee also stated its intention to continue monitoring various consumer-facing markets to protect public interests.

In other aviation developments, the national carrier recently launched a state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 flight simulator at its training center, marking the first installation of its kind in the Central Asian region.
