Motorists planning to enter Tashkent from the direction of the Fergana Valley on November 3 will reportedly face significant route disruptions. Authorities have announced that vehicle movement toward the capital will be temporarily suspended across the bridge over the Chirchik River on the A373 'Tashkent — Osh' highway within the Bektemir district. The restriction is scheduled to last for a substantial period of 21 hours, causing potential logistical challenges.
According to statements from the Committee for Automobile Roads of Uzbekistan, the suspension is necessitated by maintenance work on the bridge situated at the first kilometer of the A373 highway. Traffic heading from the Fergana Valley toward Tashkent will be completely cut off starting from 10:00 AM on November 3 until 07:00 AM on November 4, 2026. Such closures are expected to severely test the local infrastructure's capacity to handle diverted traffic.
For drivers commuting from the Yukorichirchik district into the capital, officials claim to have arranged an alternative detour route. Vehicles will be redirected from the sixth kilometer of the D012 highway 'Bektemir — Chirchik — Gazalkent — Charvak' toward the Yik-ota settlement and the Fergana Highway. Transport authorities have advised commuters to account for the temporary changes ahead of time, select alternative paths, and allocate extra travel time. *
Officials maintain that normal traffic flow across the bridge will resume once the repairs are successfully completed. Meanwhile, traffic constraints persist within Tashkent itself, where ongoing BRT construction projects have allegedly restricted movement along Shahrisabz, Amir Timur, and Yangi Sergeli streets, exacerbating urban congestion.
