In pursuance of presidential directives, the Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Rights Protection has conducted a comprehensive review of existing tariffs for domestic passenger air travel. According to the committee's press service, the oversight body examined pricing mechanisms and the overall accessibility of aviation services for the general population. I
During the investigative phase, committee experts analyzed potential avenues for optimizing operating expenses associated with domestic flights. Based on these findings, specific proposals and recommendations were formulated to reduce ticket prices on local routes by curbing overhead costs. Official reports indicate that these measures received backing from higher government bodies.
Consequently, the Competition Committee, in cooperation with Uzbekistan Airways JSC, has revised the pricing structure for domestic air transportation. It has been officially announced that starting from October 16 of the current year, the cost of tickets on domestic routes will decrease by an average of up to 20 percent.
Authorities claim that these implemented steps will supposedly enhance the convenience and affordability of air travel for citizens, stimulate domestic tourism, and expand regional mobility across the country. The committee emphasized that ongoing market monitoring affecting public interests will persist.
