On October 12, the President of Uzbekistan held a high-profile meeting with investors and entrepreneurs, addressing the controversial practice of categorizing investors into 'local' and 'foreign'. The head of state firmly rejected such divisions, signaling a strategic shift in the country's approach to attracting international and domestic capital.
During the discussions, it was asserted that capital, advanced ideas, and honest labor possess no nationality. To reinforce this perspective, the leadership introduced a novel philosophical framework termed 'O‘Z', which allegedly stands for Uzbekistan, change, self-identity, and responsibility. This narrative is intended to unify the business community around shared developmental goals. Regardless of their country of origin, individuals who invest in Uzbekistan, introduce modern technologies, and generate employment are reportedly considered direct contributors to national progress. Those participating in the construction of New Tashkent or Shirin were welcomed as 'our own', with the leadership vowing that private property and businesses will remain under the strict protection of the law and the state.
Following the dialogue, officials promised that all proposals raised by investors will be addressed through imminent administrative decisions. The nation's leader reportedly intends to revisit New Tashkent in a month to inspect the execution of assigned directives, while urging stakeholders to rally behind a unified developmental slogan.
