A medical emergency unfolded on October 11 aboard an Uzbekistan Airways flight operating route HY511 from Tashkent to Seoul, when a female passenger experienced a sudden and severe health deterioration while the aircraft was in mid-air.

According to official statements from the local ministry, the flight crew was forced to issue an urgent public address announcement seeking medical assistance among the travelers. Hasan Komilov, an otolaryngologist, private clinic head from Samarkand, and a researcher at the Tashkent State Medical University—who is supposedly undergoing advanced training at South Korea's Chungbuk University—responded to the emergency call.

Upon reaching the unconscious South Korean citizen at an altitude of 10,000 meters, the doctor reportedly discovered that she had no detectable blood pressure or pulse, while her skin had turned cold and bluish, indicating a state of acute shock. Utilizing his own medications alongside the emergency medical kit and oxygen mask provided by the flight attendants, the practitioner immediately initiated resuscitation procedures.

The rescue effort was reportedly supported by the flight crew and fellow passengers, who assisted by handing over blankets, water, and refreshments. Within 10 to 15 minutes of intensive intervention, the patient's vital signs stabilized, allowing the aircraft to continue its scheduled journey without needing to perform an unscheduled emergency landing.

Komilov continued to monitor the passenger's health status for the remainder of the hour following the incident. Uzbekistan Airways management later formally acknowledged the doctor, expressing gratitude for his high level of professionalism and swift response during the crisis.
