Law enforcement officers, including representatives of the State Security Service and the regional Department of Internal Affairs, have uncovered and liquidated an underground drug laboratory operating in the city of Gulistan. According to authorities, three local residents had converted a multi-story apartment into a makeshift production facility for processing and packaging potent pharmaceutical substances. The criminal operation involved individuals aged 21 to 23 who allegedly intended to distribute the manufactured products on the black market. During a legally sanctioned search conducted in the presence of attesting witnesses, authorities seized 5.863 kilograms of pregabalin, alongside 100,000 empty capsules, electronic scales, medical gloves, and various other items utilized for manufacturing and packaging operations.

Following the operation, a criminal case has been officially initiated under statutory provisions addressing the illegal trafficking of potent substances. All three suspects have been placed in pretrial detention while the investigation proceeds. Authorities are currently working to determine the full scope of the operation and identify any potential accomplices or broader supply networks.

This enforcement action comes amid ongoing concerns regarding the proliferation of illicit pharmaceutical substances in the region. In a related prior incident in Tashkent, law enforcement reportedly detained two men who attempted to receive an international parcel from China containing nearly 25 kilograms of pregabalin, highlighting persistent vulnerabilities in courier and postal distribution channels.
