A devastating mudflow in the Kashkadarya region has resulted in a fatality after sweeping away a Damas vehicle carrying two people. The incident reportedly occurred on October 13 at approximately 17:30 amidst adverse weather conditions in the mountainous sector.

According to reports from the regional Emergency Situations Department, the flash floods were triggered by heavy, short-lived downpours in the highlands. The raging waters cascaded directly through the territory of Shakarbulak village within the 'Kungirot' makhalla.

Preliminary findings suggest that the driver and his companion had allegedly lost their way and parked in a high-risk flash flood zone to verify their navigation route. At that exact moment, the vehicle reportedly slipped and plunged into the deepest and most violent part of the rushing torrent.

While the driver managed to escape the vehicle just in time, he purportedly attempted to warn his companion of the imminent danger via phone communication. However, the sheer force of the mudflow swept the vehicle away with the passenger still trapped inside before any rescue could be mounted.

Local district authorities, emergency response teams, and internal affairs personnel were swiftly dispatched to the scene to conduct search and rescue operations. Authorities had previously issued warnings regarding potential flash floods and high water levels across various mountainous zones in the country.
