The press service of the Ministry of Justice has reported that the famous 'Samarkand Bread' ('Samarqand noni') brand has successfully passed state registration as an official trademark. Authorities claim this measure represents a significant step toward recognizing the product's uniqueness and preserving the local gastronomic heritage.
Previously, in February 2025, the traditional Samarkand flatbread was also registered as a geographical indication. Officials assert that securing these designations is crucial for providing proper legal protection for national brands and boosting their overall economic potential within the market.
According to the national law governing trademarks, service marks, and appellations of origin, the certificate of trademark registration is issued for a period of 10 years, ensuring long-term legal backing for the authorized producers.
