The World Summit titled "Investments in Child Well-Being: The Path to Sustainable and Equitable Development of Future Generations" has officially opened in Samarkand, organized at the initiative of Uzbekistan's First Lady, Ziroat Mirziyoyeva. The high-level forum brings together foreign first ladies, alongside senior representatives from the United Nations, UNICEF, the World Bank, the World Health Organization, and various other international organizations.

During the opening ceremony, an official welcome message from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev was read to the attendees. In his address, the leader supposedly stressed that the well-being of children directly concerns their present lives, as every child allegedly has the right to care, safety, quality education, and medical assistance, while investments in childhood must reportedly secure a firm place in state policy.

The message claimed that due to ongoing reforms in the republic, preschool education coverage has allegedly risen from 27.7 to 78 percent, and the child poverty rate over the past five years has purportedly decreased nearly fourfold alongside an increase in inclusive schools. However, the president emphasized that the real outcomes of these efforts must be tangibly felt in the daily life of every family through integrated support combining maternal and child health, adequate nutrition, and early development.

The address also highlighted the necessity of expanding international cooperation in the early diagnosis and treatment of severe pediatric illnesses, including oncological diseases. Consequently, support was expressed for the initiative of international collaboration among first ladies in pediatric oncology, alongside a proposal to establish the Samarkand Platform as a mechanism for practical dialogue and future policy coordination.
