Uzbekistan has reportedly dropped three positions to rank 82nd out of 106 countries in the latest global passport index released by the international consulting firm Henley & Partners, slipping from its previous 79th spot.
At present, citizens of Uzbekistan are allegedly able to visit 57 countries worldwide without a prior visa or by obtaining one upon arrival. In the current index, the Uzbek passport shares the 82nd position with the travel documents of Burkina Faso and Togo.
Singapore continues to hold the top spot in the global ranking, with its passport holders reportedly granted visa-free entry to 193 countries. Meanwhile, Afghanistan remains at the bottom of the list, with its citizens having visa-free access to only 22 destinations.
It should be recalled that travel conditions for Uzbek citizens have recently faced growing hurdles, as Thailand instituted a mandatory prior visa requirement starting September 15. This trend allegedly continues as Egypt has also introduced similar restrictions set to take effect on November 1.
