The second season of the Tashkent Design Week international platform is scheduled to take place in the capital from October 26 to November 1, bringing together architects, designers, urban planners, developers, and representatives of the creative industries. The core theme of the event is purportedly "How design changes the city?", focusing on urban transformation and spatial development.
According to the organizers, this year's program supposedly centers on the development of New Tashkent and the role of architecture in shaping a novel urban environment. Special attention is also claimed to be directed toward Tashkent's modernist heritage, the preservation of urban identity, and educational initiatives within the design sector.
The initiative is reportedly supported by the Art and Culture Development Foundation in cooperation with various local and international entities, including the Uzbekistan Creative Park, the New Tashkent Directorate, and the Tashkent city administration. The agenda includes public talks, presentations, and contemporary product design exhibitions across multiple venues.
Events are set to unfold at several prominent locations, such as the Design Atrium at Tashkent City Mall, the Center for Contemporary Art, and the State Museum of Arts of Uzbekistan. One of the central highlights of the week is expected to be the presentation of the master plan and scale model for the New Tashkent development project.
