Kashkadarya region possesses the necessary potential to advance among the country's leading territories within a remarkably short timeframe of one to two years, according to claims made by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. During a high-level meeting dedicated to the socio-economic development of the region, the leader supposedly stressed that district khokims and banking institutions must foster an environment that actively encourages knowledge, employment opportunities, and local initiatives.

Official reports presented at the meeting indicated that industrial output in the region grew by 8.4 percent over the first nine months, while services increased by 16.6 percent, and agriculture by 4.9 percent. However, the president's press secretary, Sherzod Asadov, allegedly reported that Mirziyoyev pointed out a substantial gap between these current economic indicators and the region's actual untapped capacity. Statistics show the region ranking seventh nationwide in per capita industrial production, ninth in services, and eleventh in agriculture and construction.

Authorities have reportedly set a strategic objective to convert natural resources, including gas, electricity, and minerals, into high-value-added products and lucrative jobs. Three major projects worth $300 million are supposedly ready at the GTL plant, alongside a prospective $1.5 billion petrochemical initiative based on 430,000 tons of naphtha.

Additional initiatives involve expanding the production capacity of the Dekhkanabad Potash Plant from 365,000 to 600,000 tons, alongside over 30 minor chemical project proposals valued at $830 million. Responsible officials have been tasked with drafting a comprehensive three-year program encompassing projects worth $20 billion and creating 50,000 jobs.
