Turkish low-cost airline Pegasus Airlines is reportedly preparing to launch regular passenger flights connecting Istanbul with three regional hubs in Uzbekistan: Bukhara, Andijan, and Termez. The upcoming routes were allegedly revealed through promotional materials distributed via the carrier's mobile application and subsequently shared across social media networks.
Booking data published on the airline's official website indicates that ticket prices from Istanbul to Bukhara, Andijan, and Termez start at $99 (approximately €89.99 including taxes). However, the exact fares are subject to change depending on the specific route, travel dates, and seat availability. All flights are expected to route through Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen Airport, which serves as a primary transit base for the company.
It is claimed that the introduction of these destinations will provide regional passengers in Uzbekistan with direct transit options to European cities—including London, Paris, Manchester, and Prague—without needing to travel through Tashkent. Nevertheless, travelers are advised to account for the carrier's restrictive baggage policies, as the cheapest 'Light' fare does not include standard hand luggage or checked bags, permitting only a small personal item stored under the seat.
The entry into the Uzbek aviation market is purportedly backed by regulatory filings, with the Civil Aviation Agency's official registry showing that the Turkish carrier secured its operational authorization last October. Discussions regarding Pegasus establishing a footprint in Uzbekistan have allegedly been ongoing for several years amidst various delegations and negotiations.
