Kirill Altman, author of the AlterEgo YouTube channel, has officially introduced his new book titled "Created in Uzbekistan," focusing on the country's diverse entrepreneurial ecosystem. The presentation took place late last October at a media content production center. Over the course of a year, the author conducted in-depth interviews with 30 founders and executives representing various sectors, ranging from retail and restaurant chains to fintech and aviation, publishing their accounts in a monologue format.

The author explains that the primary objective was to preserve the personal struggles, doubts, and faulty decisions of the business figures rather than merely chronicling their successes. The book features candid recollections of early hardships, such as collecting glass bottles for money, delivering goods personally, and navigating family skepticism. Altman emphasizes that these thirty contrasting perspectives offer a more authentic representation of commerce than any single prescribed formula for success.

The publication includes insights from leaders behind prominent local enterprises like Safia, Korzinka, and Caravan Group. Several contributors also touched upon the regulatory hurdles, bureaucratic pressures, and historical economic restrictions they had to endure. Notably, Korzinka founder Zafar Hoshimov recalled periods when business growth had to be artificially constrained to avoid unwanted scrutiny. The bilingual book was published by the Uzbekistan publishing house in a 1,500-copy run featuring a reversible cover design.
