A new presidential decree [PQ-387] has been officially adopted in Uzbekistan, focusing heavily on bolstering safety measures at water reservoirs and adjacent areas while advancing the digitalization of control processes.
Under the newly established regulations, tourism facilities surrounding water reservoirs will be equipped with smart systems powered by artificial intelligence and advanced video surveillance. These technologies are designed to detect drowning risks, unauthorized entries into restricted zones, and dangerous crowd concentrations in real time, automatically notifying rescue services.
Furthermore, the directive makes it mandatory for tourism destinations to feature rescue boats, observation towers, local wastewater treatment facilities, and QR-coded evacuation maps. To warn residents and tourists of potential emergencies, specialized sirens, acoustic devices, and SMS notification systems will be widely deployed.
In addition, a dedicated rescue detachment under the Ministry of Emergency Situations is being established at the Karkidon reservoir in the Fergana region, with 36 staff positions slated for allocation by 2027. By June 1, 2027, a unified electronic information system for online monitoring of water levels and hydrological conditions will become fully operational.
