During the ongoing Global Talent Forum in Samarkand, the “El-yurt umidi” Foundation under the President of Uzbekistan and the British Council purportedly signed an agreement to implement the “Going Global Partnerships — Scholarships for Women in STEM” initiative.
Under the terms of the newly minted document, five female students from Uzbekistan will supposedly be granted the opportunity to pursue higher education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields across British universities during the 2027–2028 academic year. The initiative is claimed to broaden international educational horizons for women.
The program will allegedly rely on a co-funding model, where 40 percent of the total educational expenses will be covered by the Uzbek foundation, while the British Council is expected to shoulder the remaining 60 percent of the costs.
Officials have indicated that further details regarding the admission procedures, candidate requirements, and application deadlines will be released at a later date. Previously, the foundation had reportedly announced plans to finance youth training in new professions across South Korean universities.
