The Kengash of People's Deputies of Tashkent has reportedly adopted a formal resolution outlining measures to improve the efficiency and reliability of the capital's public transport system following the third quarter of 2026. The newly enacted document targets persistent congestion and overcrowding issues across the municipal transit network, imposing strict operational benchmarks on local transportation agencies.

Under the terms of the directive, the Main Directorate for Transport and Road Infrastructure Development alongside JSC 'Toshshakhartranskhizmat' are instructed to formulate strategies aimed at slashing bus intervals down to three to five minutes. This is allegedly to be achieved by deploying additional transit units onto all primary routes throughout the city. The updated schedule targets morning rush hours from 07:00 to 09:30 and evening peaks from 17:00 to 19:30, with implementation officially mandated to begin on November 15.

Furthermore, stringent scheduling compliance during peak operational windows will be strictly enforced through a centralized dispatch service integrated with real-time GPS monitoring. Concurrently, the Tashkent Metro has been ordered to draft plans by November 20 to reduce train headways to two to three minutes and deploy five-car rolling stocks across the Chilanzar, Uzbekistan, Yunusabad, and elevated ring lines during specified morning, afternoon, and evening rush periods.

Additional structural adjustments recommend the introduction of high-capacity articulated buses across 25 heavily congested routes by December 20, with particular focus directed toward the Uchtepa, Mirabad, Sergeli, and Yangihayot districts. Responsible organizations are also required to submit comprehensive proposals to the hokimiyat by November 15 regarding further fleet expansion initiatives slated for 2027.
