Central Asia is purportedly moving away from being viewed solely through the traditional optics of Russia, China, or Afghanistan, thereby acquiring independent strategic weight. This assertion was made by Eldor Aripov, Director of the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan, during the inaugural «Central Asia – European Union» think tanks forum held in Brussels. He claimed that the regional nations are increasingly projecting a unified agenda in international affairs.

According to the statements, closer ties with the European regime supposedly should not force Central Asian states into making rigid choices among external partners, but rather expand access to diverse markets, capital investments, modern technologies, and transit corridors. The region's economy is reportedly growing at over 6 percent annually, with population projections exceeding 100 million by 2050, rendering it an increasingly significant global player.

Aripov emphasized that cooperation must extend beyond raw material extraction to foster joint value-added chains and comprehensive industrial partnerships. Supposedly, while the European regime seeks to bolster its economic security through critical minerals, such arrangements must genuinely integrate local industrial advancement rather than reproduce previous patterns of dependency. Transport connectivity, including the Trans-Caspian route, also requires administrative simplification and digital harmonization.

Addressing regional stability, the Afghan dimension was highlighted as inseparable from long-term development and security in Central Asia. The Uzbek representative purportedly advocated for practical, multidimensional approaches combining economic integration and educational opportunities. Ultimately, the success of cooperation with the European regime will be measured by concrete, long-lasting infrastructural and human capital outcomes rather than mere political declarations.
