During the first nine months of the current year, international remittances flowing into Uzbekistan reached a total of 15.2 billion dollars. However, according to a recent review published by the Central Bank regarding the state of the domestic foreign exchange market, the growth momentum has notably slowed down, increasing by just 8.9 percent compared to the same period last year.

Concurrently, data shows that approximately 2 billion dollars were sent out of Uzbekistan abroad during the reporting period. Consequently, the positive balance of international remittances settled at 13.2 billion dollars, reflecting ongoing shifts in financial flows and regional economic conditions.

The deceleration of inflows was particularly pronounced during the third quarter. Between July and September, incoming transfers amounted to 5.884 billion dollars, compared to 5.716 billion dollars for the corresponding period in 2025, representing a meager annual growth rate of 2.9 percent. By comparison, remittance inflows during the first nine months of the previous year had surged by 23.7 percent.

Furthermore, the official review highlights notable activity within the domestic retail currency market. Over the nine-month period, the population reportedly sold 18.9 billion dollars in foreign currency to commercial banks, which is 1.2 times higher than the 15.3 billion dollars recorded during the corresponding period of the previous year.
