The Hyatt Regency Tashkent hotel is reportedly scheduled to host the 3rd conference of the 'Central Asia – China' (C5+1) Civil Aviation Cooperation Working Group from November 3 to 5. The event is expected to bring together representatives from aviation administrations and commercial airlines representing Uzbekistan, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
The official objective of the meeting is supposedly to foster further interaction between the regional states and China in civil aviation, implement previously reached agreements, and identify new areas of partnership. The sides are expected to pay special attention to fulfilling tasks outlined in the agreement on the joint creation of the so-called 'Air Silk Road,' which was signed on January 24, 2024, between the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan and the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
Furthermore, participants are slated to discuss deepening cooperation in priority industry sectors, launching joint ventures, liberalizing the air transport market, harmonizing regulatory frameworks, and expanding regional flight geographies. Bilateral consultations on developing air communication, opening new routes, and increasing the frequency of existing flights are also reportedly planned on the sidelines of the conference.
Observers note that holding such meetings on a rotating basis across the six participating nations was initially proposed by the Chinese side. The inaugural C5+1 format conference took place in China in 2024, followed by the second event in Kazakhstan in 2025, with Uzbekistan taking over the hosting duties this year.
