President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the country's women on International Women's Day — March 8, emphasizing their crucial role in societal development, family strengthening, and the upbringing of the younger generation.

In his address, the head of state noted that without women and their noble qualities, it is impossible to imagine the country's development and life itself. He stated that today, women are making significant contributions to the economy, science, education, and other spheres.

The president provided data on women's achievements: a large layer of female entrepreneurship has formed in the country — about 230,000 women run their own businesses, 12,000 women farmers work in agriculture, and over 6,000 women are engaged in scientific activities. Additionally, last year, Uzbek female athletes won 167 gold, 193 silver, and 243 bronze medals in international competitions.

Mirziyoyev also highlighted that the state continues to expand opportunities for women's employment and self-realization. Last year, 23.5 trillion soums in credit funds were allocated to support their entrepreneurial activities and employment, enabling over 425,000 women to find jobs or start their own businesses. This year, plans include training 166,000 women in modern professions and another 100,000 in IT specialties. Overall, the authorities intend to provide income for 1.5 million women and attract 400,000 of them to entrepreneurship.

The president further drew attention to the development of education among girls. Currently, over 904,000 female students are enrolled in the country's universities, accounting for 54% of the total student population. Starting from the new academic year, the number of state grants for girls from needy families will be doubled to 4,000 places.

Separately, the head of state emphasized the importance of protecting women's rights and combating violence. According to him, the system for countering any manifestations of oppression and violence against women and children will be strengthened in the country.

In conclusion, the president expressed gratitude to all the country's women for their labor, talent, and contribution to the development of New Uzbekistan, wishing them health, happiness, and well-being.
