Iran launched missile attacks on US military bases across the Persian Gulf, retaliating for US airstrikes on two reservoirs in southern Iran that cut off water to thousands. The US strikes followed Iran's downing of an American Apache helicopter near the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian state media reported that the US attacks on reservoirs near Sirik left 20,000 residents without drinking water amid temperatures reaching 50°C (122°F). Local water officials described the situation as 'extremely difficult and critical.'

Tehran condemned the US strikes as 'under false pretext.' China expressed 'deep concern' over the escalation, urging restraint and a political solution. The Chinese Foreign Ministry called for a 'total and lasting' ceasefire.

Jordan reported intercepting five Iranian missiles targeting the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base, which hosts US F-35 jets. No casualties were reported. The incident highlights the fragility of the April ceasefire between the US and Iran.

The conflict is further complicated by Israeli strikes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon and ongoing tensions in the Red Sea, where a cargo vessel exchanged fire with armed individuals off Yemen's coast.
