In the early hours of June 15, Russian forces launched a massive air attack on Kyiv, Ukraine's capital. Ukrainian officials reported that four people were killed, 25 wounded, including two children.

Destruction was recorded across the city, including in the area of the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, where a fire broke out in the Dormition Cathedral. Approximately 140,000 residents were left without electricity.

The National Film Studio named after Alexander Dovzhenko was also hit, damaging its costume department. Ukraine's Culture Minister Tatyana Berezhnaya stated: 'The largest and oldest costume collection in Ukraine has been destroyed. The studio housed about 100,000 costumes and three million items of clothing.'

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the night attack involved over 600 drones and 70 missiles across Ukraine, of which 50 missiles and 582 drones were shot down. The main strike was on Kyiv, with missiles also targeting Dnipro and Kharkiv.

The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the strikes on Ukrainian cities, claiming they were 'in response to the terrorist actions of the Kyiv regime.' The ministry alleged that the targets were defense industry facilities in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro, as well as military airfields and mobilization centers. 'The strike objectives were achieved, all designated targets were destroyed,' the statement said.

Additionally, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that overnight on Monday, air defense systems shot down 123 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions. In the Tula region, three people were killed as a result.
