Ahmed Wishah, a cameraman for Al Jazeera, was killed in an Israeli air strike that targeted a house in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza, the network confirmed on Saturday.

Al Jazeera strongly condemned the attack, calling it a “heinous crime” and a “flagrant violation of international law,” reflecting a “systematic policy of targeting journalists and silencing the voice of truth.”

At least 10 people were killed in Israeli attacks across Gaza on Saturday. Wishah’s brother Mohammed was killed by Israeli shelling on April 8, with the Israeli military claiming without evidence he was a “key terrorist in Hamas’ rocket and weapons production headquarters.”

According to the Committee to Protect Journalists, at least 260 Palestinian journalists have been killed since Israel’s war on Gaza began in October 2023. Gaza’s health ministry reports 73,018 deaths and 173,273 wounded since the conflict started.
